Privacy policy

ImportZ ("we", "us") runs the online store at https://importzmafia.com/. We're a small business based in NSW, Australia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs): we only collect what we need, we tell you why, we keep it secure, and you can ask to see or correct it.

What we collect

When you browse or buy from us, we may collect:

  • Contact details: Name, email address, phone number.
  • Order details: Shipping and billing address, the products you buy, order history.
  • Payment information: Handled by our payment providers (see below). We don't see or store your full card details.
  • Messages: Anything you send us by email, such as fitment questions.
  • Basic technical information: Such as IP address and browser type, which Shopify collects automatically to run the store securely.

We collect most of this directly from you when you place an order, create an account or contact us.

Why we collect it?

We use your information to:

  • process, ship and track your orders, including pre-orders;
  • handle returns, refunds and warranty or consumer law claims;
  • answer your questions and provide fitment help;
  • prevent fraud and keep our store secure;
  • meet our legal obligations, such as tax and record keeping.

We won't sell your personal information.

Who we share it with?

We only share information where it's needed to run the store:

  • Shopify: Our e-commerce platform, which hosts our store and stores order and customer data. See Shopify's privacy policy: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy
  • Payment processors: Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay process your payment securely. Each has its own privacy policy.
  • Australia Post: Receives your name, delivery address and contact details to deliver your order and provide tracking.
  • Authorities: Where required by law.

Overseas storage

Shopify and our payment providers may store and process data on servers outside Australia, including in Canada, the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. By using our store, you understand that your information may be handled overseas. We use reputable providers that have their own privacy and security safeguards.

Cookies

Our store only uses the essential and functional cookies Shopify needs to run: for example, keeping items in your cart, remembering your preferences and making checkout work securely. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies (no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook Pixel). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout may not work properly without them.

Emails

We send emails needed to complete your purchase, such as order confirmations, pre-order updates and tracking details. We don't currently send marketing emails. If we start in the future, you'll only get them if you've opted in, and every one will include an unsubscribe link, in line with the Spam Act 2003.

Keeping your information secure

We rely on Shopify's and our payment providers' security measures, including encrypted checkout (HTTPS). We limit access to your information and keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above, including tax and legal record-keeping requirements.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we can't do what you ask, for example because we have to keep order records for tax purposes, we'll explain why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please email us first and we'll do our best to sort it out. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at https://www.oaic.gov.au/.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
